As can be seen from our profiles, Cathal Gilmore has been in practice for over 35 years. During that time, he has developed expertise in many areas of legal work. We have established a speciality in Conveyancing matters, Wills and Probate and Personal Injury litigation.

Our practice is based in Belfast, and appointments can be made in both Kircubbin, Co. Down and Draperstown, Co. Derry.
Our Work
The most established part of our practice is our conveyancing department. Our team has developed vital experience over the years which allows us to provide a stellar service in this area. We act for a wide range of clients, whether you are a first time buyer, an existing owner, buying to let, co-ownership purchasers or if you require a re-mortgage.
We handle communication with the estate agent and the seller’s solicitors and make sure you are well informed throughout the process from the time the house is sale agreed to the handover of the keys.
Our Probate team handles the issues surrounding the events immediately following someone’s death. Whether or not the deceased has left a will or not, we are here to help. We can explain to clients the duties and obligations of an executor and we can advise whether it is necessary to apply for probate and obtain what is called a grant. We will prepare Inheritance Tax Accounts, Estate Accounts and handle any issues which may arise.
This can be a complex and stressful process at an already difficult time, which is why we work diligently to make the process as stress free as possible.
If you have been involved in a collision which was not your fault, we can recover any losses for you. If you have been injured, we can obtain compensation for you through the insurance company of the person at fault. If your vehicle has been damaged, we are also here to assist you obtain a replacement, even at short notice. We can also recovery loss of earnings, policy excess and other costs such as the cost of any medical treatment.
If you have been involved in an accident with an uninsured driver, or an untraced driver we can direct your claim to the Motor Insurer’s Bureau.
